The NJCAA Women's Basketball All-Americans were announced this week and Iowa Western's Sommer Blakemore was selected as a Third-Team Honoree. Blakemore, who was also the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the year, helped lead the Reiver women to their second consecutive Region XI Championship. 

Blakemore was a two-year starter, playing in 62 games and starting in 61 during her time at Iowa Western. During her sophomore season, she averaged 12.2 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game. She shot 40% from the field, 37% from beyond the arc, and 76% from the free-throw line. Blakemore also led the team in assists, dishing out 84 on the year. 

Sommer has committed to the University of Tulsa to continue her academic and athletic career.
