Daktronics Final Fall Standings Announced
CLEVELAND – The National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrations (NATYCAA) released their final fall standings for the prestigious Daktronics Cup. Iowa Western sits at the top of the standings for the NJCAA Scholarship Division and the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup.
"It has been an exciting fall for Iowa Western Athletics and I am proud of our student-athletes and coaching staff," said Iowa Western President Dr. Dan Kinney. "This is a dedicated group of individuals that all had very successful seasons. As we move into the winter sports, all of our teams continue to excel, and I can't wait for their National Championship events. It is a great time to be a Reiver Fan!"
"We were very excited to see the standings in the Daktronics Cup after the conclusion of the fall season," said Iowa Western Athletic Director Shane Larson. "Our fall sports coaches and student-athletes have set a very high standard and we are looking forward to our winter and spring sports building on that. To be in contention for the Daktronics Cup is a great honor and exemplifies the standard of excellence we strive for here at Iowa Western."
The Reivers claimed national championships in both men's soccer and volleyball this past November. Runner-up finishes in men's cross country and football as well as a fifth-place finish in women's cross country helped push Iowa Western to the top of the charts in the NJCAA Scholarship Division.
