Reivers remains unscathed after Cougar Classic

SCOTTSBLUFF, NE- After a challenging Friday, the Reivers got up early Saturday morning to face their last two opponents of the regular season. Barton Community College was the Reivers' first challenger.  After dropping set two against Barton, the Reivers regrouped and won in a four set match (25-15, 22-25, 25-23 and 25-9). Hina Pua'a had her seventh double- double recording 46 assist and 14 digs. She also helped Cooper, Alekseeva and Verzani calculate 14, 14 and 13 kills respectively by opening the offense.  Defensively, Macies notched 11 digs while Cooper added 10. The Reivers recorded 14 blocks during the match; Cooper and Bossler added 3 each.

The last match was against Laredo Community College. The Reivers kept the Palominos' score under 20 points in in all three sets, making this their 34th win (25-10. 25-19 and 25-19). The offense was paced by pins Verzani, Alekseeva and Cooper who recorded 11 kills each. Makayla Doyle followed suit with 9 kills and 2 block assists. Hina Pua'a notched 39 assists and 6 digs. The Reivers registered  44 total digs, with 18 digs from Liz Fleckenstein and Macies.

The Reivers will host the District J Championship Tournament this weekend.  The will face Vincennes at 1pm.
