Norfolk, NE- The Iowa Western Volleyball team improved their record to 14-0 last night downing the host, Northeast CC Hawks (25-15, 25-10, and 25-22). Iowa Western showcased their hitters chalking up 50 total kills with only 8 errors in the match.
Makayla Doyle had a phenomenal night as the sophomore paced the Reivers with 15 kills and only one error. Freshman, Irina Alekseeva, matched that high with 15 kills as well, and Caitlyn Cooper finished in double digit kills with 13.
Freshman setter, Hina Pua'a notched 33 assists on the night and sophomore, Kaci Hohenthaner, added 11.
Defensively, The Reivers were led by freshman Ariana Macies who registered 14 digs. Cooper added 11 and sophomore libero, Emi Pua'a, tallied 10.
The Reivers were ranked 2nd in most recent NJCAA poll released on Tuesday.
Next up for the Reivers is a trip to Hutchinson, KS and face four tough competitors in two days.
