No. 2 Iowa Western Continues Win Streak

WEST PLAINS, MO - The Iowa Western volleyball team remained hot defeating Missouri State-West Plains in non-conference action Friday night.

The Reivers needed straight sets (25-12, 25-6, 25-20) against the Grizzlies to push their win total to 10.  Offensively, the Reivers stayed sharp hitting .410 as a team. Sophomore, Caitlyn Cooper, led the team with 13 kills hitting .357, while Irina Alekseeva was second on the team in kills with 10 hitting an efficiency of .529. Sophomore Makayla Doyle had a team high 3 blocks in the match in addition to seven kills.

Libero, Emi Pua'a, and defensive specialist, Ariana Macies took control of the backrow as they accumulated 12 and 11 digs respectively while holding the Grizzlies to a hitting percentage of .119.

Next up for Iowa Western is conference foe and No. 7 ranked Indian Hills at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Ottumwa.
