Winning streak continues for Reiver Women

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA- The Reiver women's basketball team put away Southwest Community College Wednesday evening, 94-65. This win expanded their winning streak to 8 game since the start of 2019.  

The Reivers started of strong offensively and ended the first half 52-33, led by sophomore De'Ayra Davis who scored 13 first half points shooting 4-6 from the field, 2-4 from the arc, and 3-4 at the line. Davis has been consistent for the Reivers on the scoring end, something Head Coach Lindsey Vande Hoef values greatly, "D has really been a spark for us when we need it. She has great energy and is always eager to compete at the highest level."

The second half was won by a true team effort, as all 11 Reivers saw the floor and contributed. The Reivers were tough on the board, something they have done consistently in all 24 games thus far. Freshman Aubri Noti finished the game just shy of a double-double with 10 rebounds and 9 points. Multiple players were in double digit scoring for the Reivers, including Binta Salawu (12), Haley Moore (10) , Tiana Ziegler (13), and  Aimee Brett (11).

The Reivers also gained 11 points from the free throw line, finishing the game 78.6% which is a marked improvement from the first half of the season.

The Reivers are back in action on Saturday, February 2nd in Wahpeton, North Dakota where they will face North Dakota State College of Science. Tipoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
