Season-high shooting propels Reivers over Tigers

MARSHALLTOWN, IA- The Iowa Western Women's Basketball team stands at 2-0 in Conference play after shutting down Marshalltown, 89-52.

The game started with an exchange of baskets from each squad before the Reivers went on a 10-0 run initiated by Sophomore De'Ayra Davis. Davis, who was active on both ends of the ball, grabbed a board and pushed the ball in transition before finding Sophomore Aubriana Noti for a bucket. After a steal from Sophomore Kiara Dallmann, Davis again found her teammates, finding Zhan'e Williams for a 3.

The Reivers were lead in scoring by Sophomore Aimee Brett who ended the night with 17 points.

The Reivers continued their unselfish play throughout the game and ended the game with 19 assists, shooting 56% from the field and season-high 64% from the 3-point line. The Reivers also shot 75% from the free throw lines and almost doubled Marshalltown's 15 rebounds, grabbing 34 total boards.

The Reivers will look to continue their 2019 winning streak on Friday, January 25 at home where they will face Concordia University's JV team.
