COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA -- The Reiver women came out strong and cruised to a victory over No. 4 ranked NIACC (NJCAA DII).

Iowa Western came out swinging and hopped to an early and convincing lead, outscoring the Trojans 25-8 in the first quarter.

After a small momentum swing by the Trojans the Reivers held onto the lead heading into halftime with a 20 point lead.

Scoring wasn't the only strongpoint for the Reivers as they also held NIACC to shooting only 20% from the 3-point line and 32% from the field.

The Reivers were lead in scoring by Freshman guard Sommer Blakemore who ended the night shooting 7-11 from the field, 3-5 from the 3-point line, and 5-5 from the charity stripe. She also finished with three caroms and handed out three dimes. Sophomore Kiara Dallmann also chipped in 15 points and 6 boards while Freshman Aubriana Noti collected a double double, pumping in 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

The Reivers will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Parsons, KS where they will face Labette Community College for the second time this season on Monday, January 14th.
