Reivers win 10th straight in 107-31 rout at Reiver Arena

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - The Reivers won their 10th game in a row, defeating Little Priest Tribal College 107-31 on Saturday inside Reiver Arena. Iowa Western (17-4, 2-0), saw five players score in double figures in a game they never trailed in.

Freshman Naomie Alnatas continued her torrid 2nd semester play, perfect from the field on the day.  The guard out Cayenne, French Guiana tallied 16 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. Joining Alnatas in double figures were Zheniah Jackson with 14, Miya Bull with 10, and Kiara Dallmann and Jazza Johns who each finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

After taking a commanding 35-6 lead after one quarter, Little Priest hit five shots from deep to claw back into the contest. However, the second half proved to be all IWCC, outscoring the visiting Warriors 52-11. University of Illinois-Chicago signee, Christelle Nyauchi scored six consecutive points in the third quarter around the rim after back-to-back offensive rebounds. Freshman forward Julia Raflund put the exclamation point on the game for the Reivers, dominating in the paint in the 4th, scoring 6 points while pulling down 3 offensive board.

Little Priest Tribal College were led in scoring by Kayla Albo who tallied 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting. The Warriors Jayla Muniz came into the game as the fourth leading scorer in the ICCAC (14.4 ppg), but was held to three points on 1-of-11 shooting, including 0-7 from 3-point range. Iowa Western shot a blistering 61.1% from the field (44-of-72) and 47.6% from three (10-of-21). Little Priest was held to just 20.4% (10-of-49) and 21.7% (5-of-23) from deep.
