COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - The reverse (15-4, 1-0 ICCAC) opened up ICCAC conference play with a win over Marshalltown (6-11, 0-1 ICCAC) 69-49 in Reiver Arena on Saturday.

A slow pace plague both teams much of the first half with IWCC only up a point after the first quarter. The second quarter provided a chance for the Reivers to get out in the open floor and attack in transition behind Naomie Alnatas's 11 second quarter points. The Freshman was perfect from the field in the quarter, including 3 made threes putting he Reivers up over the Tigers 31-22 at the break.

Out of halftime to the dismay of the home team the game tempo remained the same with IWCC extending its lead little by little. Sophomore guard Azaria Floyd proved to be a Key contributor for the second half as she earned her first start of the season after returning from injury. The Sophomore guard scored 15 points on 7 of 13 shots while adding four rebounds and three assists as she sliced through the zone defense of Marshalltown. Alnatas finished the day with a team high 19 points on 7 of 9 shots from the field.

Marshalltown was lead in scoring by Alyssa Roth with 17 points and Claudia Morente who scored 15. The Tigers shot 41.5% from the field on 17 of 41 shots including 6 of 16 from the three for 37.5%. IWCC finished the game with 45.2% on 28 of 62 shots and only 28.6% from three with only six made threes on 21 attempts.

The Reivers hit the road for the first time in the new year to play conference rival Northeast CC in Norfolk, Nebraska Wednesday, Jan. 17th. The game is schedule for a 5pm tip-off.
