HILLSBORO, MO - The Reivers rolled to a 62-point win over NJCAA Region 16 opponent Jefferson College 93-31. Iowa Western who improved to 11-4 heading into Christmas break picked a part the Vikings zone defense shooting a blistering 58.9% from the field on 42-of-73 shots.

Sophomore forward Jazza Johns, the reigning ICCAC Player of the Week, scored 17 of her 19 points in the first half during a red hot start to the game.  Johns' 19 points came on 9-of-14 shots from the floor.  She also grabbed 6 rebounds while cheering on her teammates from the bench most of the 4th quarter.

Joining her in double figures were fellow sophomores Azaria Floyd and Miya Bull and freshman forward Julia Raflund. Guard Azaria Floyd finished the day with 13 points, draining 6-of-11 from the field including a three-pointer right before the halftime buzzer. Bull and Raflund controlled the defensive glass in the second half and sprinting the floor to a earn layups on the other end.  Bull finished with 11 points and seven rebounds with Raflund contributing 10 points.

The Reivers' stingy defense clamped down in the last two quarters, outscoring Jefferson by 34 and only allowing seven 3rd quarter points and just two in the 4th.  Jefferson was led in scoring by Izze Ringling who finished with 12. The Vikings shot just 13-of-45 from the field, good for 28.9%.

The Reivers head into the semester break at 11-4 with time off for the Holidays and return in 2018 on Saturday, January 6th against Crowder at Reiver Arena on campus.
