Delia Ania-Gaja Named the ICCAC Player of the Week

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - Sophomore guard Delia Ania-Gaja has been named the ICCAC Player of the Week. The Barcelona native had a pair of solid games last week resulting in two wins for the Reivers in addition to tying a school record in assists.

On Friday Dec. 8th, against Northwest Kansas Tech, Ania-Gaja tied the Iowa Western assist record with 15 while only turning the ball over once. She also produced 15 points, four steals and three rebounds in 27 minutes of action in the victory.

For the year, she is averaging 10.1 points per game, shooting 39.6% from beyond the arc and 81.8% from the free-throw line. Even more impressive is her assists per game at 6.5 which ranks her first in the ICCAC and eighth in NJCAA Division I. She has 84 total assists on the season which puts her at fourth in the country.

Ania-Gaja is the third recipient of the ICCAC Player of the Week award as Sophomore Miya Bull and freshman Kiara Dallmann earned the award already this season.
