COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - A record setting night from beyond the arc pushed the Reivers to a win over Briar Cliff 99-33 in the final game of the Holiday Inn/Hampton Inn Classic on Saturday. The Reivers were hot from the tip, setting a new team record of 15 made 3's on just 30 shots (50%) and dishing out 35 assists on 40 made field goals.
 
The visiting Chargers of Briar Cliff were overwelmed in the opening minutes as the Reivers raced out to a 30-10 first quarter lead. Back-to-back three pointers by Naomie Alnatas and Zheniah Jackson extended the lead early in the second quarter. The pressure defensively affected the opponent as the Reivers forced a season-high 24 turnovers. Every player on the roster scored for IWCC as they finished the game shooting 58% from the field compared to Briar Cliff's 24.5%.
 
Freshman guard Naomie Alnatas lead scoring charge with 21 points on 5 of 8 from behind the 3-point line. Sophomore Zheniah Jackson poured in 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Delia Ania-Gaja added strong play off the bench with a double-double scoring 11 points and 10 assists and Redshirt freshman Channie Mai drained two 3's seeing the floor for the first time in her college career.
 
Up next, the Reivers hit the road to face North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, N.D. this Wednesday. The Wildcats come into the contest 1-1 having lost to Region 11 rival Northeast (NE) Community College. The game is set for 5:30pm CST.
