Reivers Run Well at Chile Pepper and Charger Invite

FAYETTEVILLE, AR

The Reivers travelled to Fayettville to run in the Chile Pepper Invite hosted by the University of Arkansas. The Men's team was led by Freshman Nicholas Kiprotich who finished 10th with a time of 24:11 and was the second best NJCAA finisher in the race. Council Bluffs native Wimach Gilo finished second for the team running 25:42. The Men's team finished 26th overall in a competition that featured some of the best Division 1, Division 2, and NJCAA teams in the nation. 

On the women's side Mercy Biwott led the way finishing 33rd with a time of 17:39. Finishing behind Mercy was sophomore Mohussin Abakar in a time of 19:06, Bethany Stacey finished in the third position with a time of 19:36 followed by sophomore Jadyn Miller running 20:36 and Elizabeth Hussey running 22:13. 

 

NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD

With the squad split the Reivers also competed in the Charger Invite hosted by Buena Vista University. Lillian Garay and Mikayla Pecka competed for the women's team, Lillian finished with a time of 23:07 and Mikayla finished in a time of 23:39. 

The men's team had a successful day with Merci Bita leading the way running a time of 28:36 with Ty Costigan right behind him running 28:43. Aaron Reiner also finished in the top 100 with a time of 30:30. 

 

The Reivers will travel to Ottumwa, IA next Friday to compete at the Indian Hills Invitational Friday, October 15. Please follow us on social media for updates throughout the year.
