Ailes and James Win National Titles

HOBBS, NM - Iowa Western Track & Field competed at the 2023 NJCAA Outdoor Championships over the weekend in Hobbs, New Mexico.  The men's team finished the three-day event with a score of 55.5, good enough for a 4th place finish.  The women's team ended with 64 total points and a 5th-place finish.  Sophomore Miracle Ailes continued to dominate the games, winning national titles in the women's high jump (1.82m) and long jump (6.21m); Freshman Jazmyn James won her first national title in the women's discus with a mark of 48.56m.

The men's team was led by 2nd place finishes by Tahj Hamm in the 400m and Jayden Brown in the 400m hurdles with Hamm setting the school record in the 400m.

Iowa Western ended with 30 USTFCCCA All-Americans and broke seven school records.
