The Men's and Women's teams opened up the 2023 Outdoor season at Emporia State University this weekend. Yesterday on day 2 of the competition, Ethel Amissah won the Women's 200m dash in a personal best and national qualifying mark of 24.46 wind +2.6. Ritchina Stallman was in 4th place in the Women's High Jump with a 1.46m. 

On day 3 of the competition, Marzeion Jones finished 1st place in the Men's triple jump with a personal best mark of 14.50m. Prosper Kapongo also had a personal best in the Men's long jump with a 7.08m to finish 5th place. 

"It was good to kick off the outdoor season with a few victories this weekend. We had some people really put the things they have been working on in practice together. " said Coach Burnett 

The teams will send squads to three meets this weekend at Texas Relays at The University of Texas, The Bobcat Invitational at Texas State University March 30- April 1, and the Mustang Open at Mt. Mercy University April 1.
