Reivers fall to Snow College in overtime 2-1

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Reivers came out strong the first 15 minutes of the game, providing pressure on Snow's outside backs, forcing multiple turnovers, and creating a few opportunities on goal. In the 8th minute, sophomore outside midfielder Ashley Overberg received a ball on the flank and took it up the line against Snow's outside defender. Overberg used her speed to dribble past their defender and drill a low ball at the top of Snow's six-yard box. Freshman striker Kauany Sousa was able to connect with the cross and finish the ball at the top center of the goal. Both teams struggled to maintain and sustain possessions throughout the remainder of the game.

In the 38th minute, the Reivers broke down in their defensive third, losing the ball, and Snow was able to capitalize on the opportunity, slot the ball through our center backs, and put the ball in the back of the net, bringing the game to 1-1. The second half began with the game tied up and both teams struggled to maintain and sustain possessions throughout the remainder of the game. At the end of regulation, the Reivers and Badgers were still tied, heading into overtime. In the 91st minute, Snow received a free kick just behind the Reivers' half. The ball was played in and shot on frame, but the ball ricocheted off the top of the crossbar, and Snow was able to gain control of the ball again and finish it just over the fingertips of transfer goalkeeper Whitney Dockweiler. The game resulted in a 2-1 win for Snow College.
