Golf Team Comes Up 1 Stroke Short

Reiver Women came up one stroke short of winning the Lila Frommelt Fall Classic hosted by Briar Cliff University. The tournament consisted of playing 2 separate courses which was unique for the Reivers. After Day 1 The Reivers found themselves in first place shooting a team score of 308 At Two Rivers Golf Course. Lead by Wen-Yi (Winnie) Hung and Baylie Pyke's 74. Playing as an Individual Lauren Brown found herself in the top 5 with a score of 76. Charlie Maxwell rounded out the top scores for the Reiver and a 77.

Day 2 brought different results on a much harder course at Green Valley Golf Course. The women saw their lead shrinking all day to Morningside University and at the end Morningside surpassed the Reivers by 1 shot. Baylie Pyke was able to go extra holes and win the event on the first play-off hole. Birdieing the hole, she ended the day with a 78. Maxwell and Hung ended Tied for 5th place and Brown finished in 7th place.

We left some shots on the course and had some mental breakdowns that we need to work on as we go forward," said Head coach Matt Robinson. "Playing 2 different courses and not doing any practice rounds was new for the ladies. All the shots they took were to an unknown area on a course they had no idea how to manage."

The Reivers will take a week off before heading to Hasting College Invite on Sept 25th and 26th.
