Women Starts the Fall Season with a Win

The Reiver Women got off to a great start of their fall season by taking first place at the Kansas
Women's Collegiate in Hutchinson, KS. The Reivers returned 3 players from last year's squad while
introducing 5 new Freshman to the team.

End of day 1 competition found the Reivers in 3rd place, trailing the leading team by 5 strokes. The
Reivers were led by Baylie Pyke with a 73. Freshman Charlie Maxwell and Beatriz Pinheiro followed with
78's. While Wen-Yi (Winnie Hung) and Brook Diekemper recorded 79's.

Day 2 brought perfect conditions for the Reivers to score. After cleaning up some mental errors from
day 1, they were able to outscore the competition to be crowned the Champions. Pyke and Maxwell led
the team with 70's. While Freshman Rylin (ROO) Davidson finished with a 76, fellow Freshman Lauren
Brown improved 11 shots from day one to shoot a 77. Pinheiro finalized the team scoring with a 79.

"For our first tournament of the year with so many freshmen I was very pleased with the team and how
they performed," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "We were only off the School record by 3 strokes on
day 2. To do that in our first event of the year says a lot about what to expect from the team this year."

The Reivers turn around quickly and will participate in the Lila Frommelt Fall Classic, hosted by Briar Cliff
University on September 13 th and 14 th .
