Women Wrap up the Spring Season with a Victory

The Reiver women got off to a slow start at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate Invite in the first round. But were able to bounce back in round 2. After round 1 the ladies saw themselves in 2nd place, 3 strokes back to Bellevue University. Led by Sophomore Madi Schlaepfer and a 78 and followed by Baylie Pyke at a 79.

"For it to be our home course and the weather being great. I thought we would have played better on Day 1," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "But on Day 2 they really played well. I guess we just need to play in windy conditions to perform."

Day 2 brought better results with Pyke leading the way with a 75 followed by Schlaepfer and Freshman Marley Richter and Brook Diekemper with 79. The women were able to overtake first place and win by 16 strokes to Bellevue.

The team now transitions to post season play with their sights set on Districts. They will travel to Ankeny Iowa to compete in the Plains District Championships Monday and Tuesday.
