Women Golf Dust the Rust Off in St. Joseph, MO

The Reiver women open up their Spring season in St. Joseph, MO playing in the Holiday Inn Invite hosted by Missouri Western University. The women got off to a fast start challenging for 1st place after their first 9 holes. But as the day went on the Reivers fell back and settled into 6th place out of 9 teams. The team was led by Freshman Baylie Pyke who shot a +7, 79 round.

Day 2 the Reivers looked to move up on the leader board. Led by Sophomore Madilyne Schlaepfer with a 76 the team just couldn't get things going. The team ended in 6th place over-all. Schlaepfer finished the tournament tied for 15th spot. Pyke was able to finish Tied for 21st while Fellow Freshman Marley Richter performed well and finished T27th.

"For our first time out this Spring we were very rusty, and it showed," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "We hit some shots that we normally wouldn't hit.  We need to just build off of each round and learn from our mistakes going forward."

The Reivers will be back in action April 3-4 in Lincoln, NE where Concordia University is hosting a 54-hole event at Highlands Golf Course.
