Strong Showing for the Women's Golf Team

The Iowa Women's golf team made their annual visit to Oklahoma City to participate in the Susie Maxwell Berning Invite hosted by Oklahoma City University.  The Reivers made a great showing competing against some of the top NAIA colleges in the region. The team finished tied for 3rd place with scores of 303 and 300. The 300 Score represented their lowest scoring round of the year.

Sophomore Luisa Gibson led the Reivers with a 2nd place finish over-all. Followed by Sophomore Seira Kubo and Freshman Katie Graham with top 15 finishes. Madi Schlaepfer, fighting a head cold on day 1, provided a great round of 73 on day 2.

"I was proud of how the team played on Day 2. The wind was sustained at 25 MPH with gusts of 40+MPH." Said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "For the players to overcome those elements to post their low round of the year is remarkable."

The team turns around and plays in the Grand View University Invite on Monday, April 18th. The season wraps on April 25th and 26th at the Regional event in Milford, KS
