Women's Golf Team Kicks of the Spring Season

The Reiver Women's golf team jumped right into the Spring season by playing in a full NCAA DII tournament hosted by Missouri Western University at St. Joseph Country Club in Missouri. The women held their own against some quality competition, finishing 4th over-all.

Day 1 brought cold windy conditions, add lightning fast greens and it added up to a challenging round. The Reivers were led by Freshman Katie Graham and Sophomore Seira Kubo. Each shooting rounds of 79 & 80 respectfully. At the completion of Round 1 the Reivers found themselves tied for 2nd place.

Day 2 didn't bring any better conditions. The same wind and cold weather hung around the entire round. The greens were once again lightning fast. Day 2 saw Sophomore Luisa Gibson and Freshman transfer Madi Schlaepfer leading the way with 79 & 81 respectfully.

"The girls were disappointed with their play given how well they performed in the fall. I just kept reminding them that this was out first tournament and this is a journey. We want to learn each tournament and work on what we learned at our next outing. We want to peak at Regionals and Nationals", said Head Coach Matt Robinson.

The Team will head out again next week (April 5th & 6th) and compete in the Concordia University Invite in Lincoln, NE
