Reiver Women Golf Claims Another Victory

After a rain soaked event, where the 2nd round was cancelled, the Reiver Womens golf team picked up their second victory of the Spring season. With another tournement played under less than ideal conditions, the Reivers came out firing on day one and led by 21 strokes over Host School Jamestown University. The event took place at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora, IA. Luisa Gibson and Seira Kubo both claimed first place each shooting a score of 78. Freshman Katie Schweers had her best round of the year with a 85 and in a 5th place tie, while Holly Elliott wasn't far behind with a 87 and in 8th place. Maya Northcutt rounded out the scoring with a 93 (16th place).

Day 2 brought even more rain as well as increased wind. After sending the players out to start their rounds and only a handful of players finsihing thier first hole, play was suspended and then cancelled all together because of standing water on most greens. "I can't wait to see what this team can do in just average conditions." Said Assistant Coach Matt Robinson. "We have not yet played a tournement this year where it hasn't been raining, cold or the wind blowing hard. The mental toughness of this team is off the charts."

With the second day cancelled, day 1 results stood as the final results. The Women will be back at in April 12th and 13th when they travel to Lincoln, NE to play in Bulldog Spring invite hosted by Concordia University
