Sophomore-Fall Season: Payton spent most of the Fall Season battling a shoulder injury that limited her playing time. However, even with her injury she improved her scoring average from the previous season. She ended up with a scoring average of 95.09. Payton looks to capitalize on her improved scoring and take that into the Spring Season.
Freshman Year at IWCC: Payton battled through a shoulder injury most of her Freshman year which limited her playing time. However, she came on strong at the end of the year and was able to crack into the top 150 in the Nation, finishing ranked 134th. Payton placed 15th at the Region IX tournament and was rewarded with earning Honorable Mention honors in the ICCAC conference. She finished the year with a 97.73 scoring average.
Prior to IWCC: 4-year letter winner in High School (Team caption). Winning the city tournament (Council Bluffs, IA) 3 years in a row. Placing in the top 5 in the conference tournament (Senior year)
