Iowa Western Improves to 4-0

The thrilling start to the Iowa Western Women's Basketball 2022-2023 season continues as they move up to #6 in the NJCAA DII Week 2 Ratings. The Reivers progress to 4-0 after defeating NJCAA DI Western Wyoming in a neutral site game and routing NAIA Concordia University, Nebraska JV in their home opener.

On November 12, Iowa Western finished a three-game road gauntlet with a victory over Western Wyoming 80-67. The Reivers were led by Aleshia Jones who score 19 points and McKenna Minter who added 17. The Mustangs put up an impressive defensive effort with two players collecting 10+ rebounds and forcing 22 Reiver turnovers.

On November 15, Iowa Western returned home to a remarkable 131-65 triumph over Concordia JV. The Reivers set a school record for points in a half with 72 and were 5 points away from breaking the programs all-time scoring tally. Eight Reivers scored in double digits and eleven players added to the scoring total. They lead by Hannah Burg and Ndidiamaka Ndukwe both scoring 20 points followed by Jamyah Winter who scored 15 points on 5-5 shooting from behind the 3-point line. Isabel Wallschlaeger accounted for 5 of the Reivers 27 assists.

Iowa Western Women's Basketball is back in action tomorrow (Friday, November 18th) at 5pm in Reiver Arena against Fort Scott. The four-game homestand continues into Thanksgiving week with a match-up against NJCAA DI North Dakota State College of Science on Wednesday, November 23rd at 5pm and against North Platte on Saturday, November 26th at 3 pm.
