Reivers Become ACUI Divison IV National Trap Champions

San Antonio, TX

This week the Reivers shot their way to a National Championship.  After four days and 1500 targets, the Reivers became the Division IV ACUI National Trap Champions. Our top shooters combined to shoot an outstanding score of 495/500 targets. The Reivers edged out the second-place team by only 3 targets. Along with the team score, the reivers also had two individuals shoot a perfect 100 straight to land themselves in a shoot-off. Mitch Germany and Weston Zolck competed in a miss-and-out, shoot-off where Mitch broke an extra 12 targets and placed 5th. Zolck hit another 42 targets before missing which landed him as National Runner up in American Trap.

The Reivers also placed second American Skeet, and Sporting Clays, as well as 2nd Place in the High Over All team event.  Skeet was led by sophomore Mitchell Hoffman who shot a career best of 97/100. Following Mitch, we had Blake Steuben, Tevin Statzer, John DeFord, and Nathan Schulte who all shot a 96/100. This gave the Reivers a solid team score of 481/500.

"Sporting Clays proved to be the toughest event for everyone" Coach Pollock commented, "This was by far the toughest Sporting Clays course that we have ever seen here at Nationals. This event showed us exactly how we can be better prepared for next year." Sophomores Cade Van Tilburg and Clayton moore led the team, both shooting 71/100 targets. The team went on to place 2nd in the event with a team score of 347/500.

As a Team the Reivers placed 2nd in Division IV with a total score of 1323/1500 Targets.
