Reivers Take 2nd Place at Hastings Bronco Invitational

Reivers Take 2nd Place at Hastings Bronco Invitational

Grand Island, NE

Save the best for last, that's what Reivers Shotgun Sports has done this season, improving every week in live and virtual shoots.

After picking up their fourth ICCAC virtual victory of the season, the team traveled to Grand Island to face the field at the Bronco Invite, finishing second with a score of 1955/2250.  The total mark topped NCAA D-1, Wichita State by over 300 clays and was just shy of Concordia, the winner of the event.

The Reivers shot five different disciplines at the event, including trap, skeet, double-skeet, sporting clays and super sporting clays.

Sophomore Gage O'Connor helped the Reivers grab a first-place finish in double-skeet by hitting 89 of 100 targets.  Clayton Moore (88), Tristan Lundvall (87), Weston Zolck (86), and John DeFord (85) aided the Reivers in a 435/500 performance.

IWCC was led overall in the event by Zolck.  The super sophomore tied for second place overall in the five events, targeting 392 out of 450 total clays.

The second-place finish was the high-water mark so far for this season's Reivers, breaking a string of third-place finishes for the team.

Head Coach Derek Pollock was pleased overall, "Despite less than ideal conditions, the team stayed focused over the course of the two days.  Day two saw us come together to solidify a good weekend of shooting."

The event was the final 'live' event scheduled for the fall, although the Reivers may seek out another event to keep skills sharp headed into the semester break.
