Zolck wins Fort Hays State Freshman Sporting Shoot

HAYS, KS

Iowa Western's first ever Shooting Sports Competition is in the books.  The Reivers travelled down to Hays, Kansas for an all-freshman competition to kick off their inaugural season.  The meet consisted of 50 rounds in each of the following six events: trap, double trap, wobble trap, skeet, double skeet and super sporting clays.  The competition featured 300 targets.

Weston Zolck brought home the award for highest overall scoring in the Men's Division. Zolck placed first in trap and double skeet and tied for second in double trap. Colten Ruppert placed 16th overall in the Men's Division.

Up next for the Reivers, they'll head back to Hays for Fort Hays State Invitational, a 2-day event on September 15th & 16th.  Nearly 200 competitors are expected, providing the student-athletes with more opportunities for improvement and exposure to the collegiate level of shooting.
