Reivers Extend Winning Streak to Six

Iowa Western swept four games over the weekend to improve to 19-7 on the season and extend their winning streak to six games.

Central CC

Emily Brouse was dealing again on Saturday, throwing a one-hit shutout while striking out 12.  Olivia Kyes provided the offense, going 2-4 with two homeruns and driving in four runs.  Amayia Hernandez also homered and drove in a pair of runs.  Karis Gifford tripled as well with the Reivers taking game one 7-0.  Game two saw IW grab a 15-7 victory.  Libby Walls picked up the win in the circle, going 3 2/3 innings, allowing just one run on three hits and striking out five.  IWCC's offense would pound out 18 hits, including two homeruns from Olivia Valdez and one from Olivia Kyes.  Valdez collected four RBI's on the game and Kyes added two of her own.  Camryn Milley went 4-5 with three RBI's and Jael Wilde along with Kaycie Barber would chip in a double each.  Karis Gifford was 3-4 on the day and Tayler Floyd went 2-4 with 2 RBI's.

Northeast CC

Another game, another win for Emily Brouse, grabbing her 10th victory on the season for the freshman, leading IWCC to a 10-2 victory.  Brouse threw the complete five innings, allowing just three hits and two runs while striking out six.  Olivia Kyes would again homer, her fourth on the weekend, driving in two.  Karis Gifford and Camryn Milley would provide two hits apiece.  Jael Wilde drove in three runs, Myla Beckstrom and Olivia Valdez drove in two each as well.  Game two was very similar to the early game, quality pitching and a lot of offense in an 11-3 win.  Ava Knoll went the distance, throwing six innings of two hit softball.  Homeruns from Olivia Valdez, Jael Wilde, Amayia Hernandez, and Myla Beckstrom paced the Reivers offense.  Valdez and Wilde would each add doubles as well.  Kaycie Barber also chipped in two hits for IWCC.
