Softball drops two to Johnson County

Overland Park, KS – Iowa Western dropped a pair of road games to Johnson County Community College on Wednesday, 9-5 and 11-4.

In game one of the double header the Reivers blasted four homeruns, unfortunately, they were all solo shots.  Lily Gregory led off the first and third innings with shots over the center field fence.  Tyla Lee and Cassiddy Beeby went back to back to lead off the sixth inning, but it wouldn't be enough to overcome the defensive miscues of the Iowa Western infield.  Defensively, the Reivers committed three errors that led to four unearned runs to put JCCC in the driver's seat the entire game.

During the second game, Johnson County's hot bats could not be silenced.  Aided by two more defensive errors, the home team brought home 11 runs.  Tyla Lee had the only multi-hit game for Iowa Western, going 2-4 and scoring twice in the game.

IWCC drops to 26-18 on the season but still sit atop the conference standings at 5-1.
