Day 4 of competition for the Reivers matched them with another past NJCAA Champion.

The Pioneers of Indian River State College, the 2002 NJCAA Champs, hosted the Reivers at their on-campus facility.

Despite dropping a 2-run decision, Game 2 was the bright spot for the Reivers.  The offense came alive, collecting 12 hits and scoring 8 runs in a back and forth battle with IRSC.

Sophomore Lily Gregory was 4-8 on the day, 3-5 in game 2, which included a majestic, 2-run homer into the top of a palm tree in centerfield.  The blast quieted the home dugout and caused mouths to drop in the stands.  The Reivers also got 3 doubles from Sophomore Tyla Lee, another 2-run homer by Sophomore Sydney Reamer and a triple from Alyssa Maldonado Soto.

In Game 1, the hosts struck for 2 unearned runs in the first and were poised for more in the 3rd before Freshman Julie Katz struck out back-to-back batters with runners at 2nd and 3rd.

The Reivers would give up 5 more runs in the 4th as the Pioneers batted around.  A six-inning, 8-run victory was awarded with a 1-out, 2-run homer 2-innings later.

The lone run came on an RBI from Omaha Freshman Logon Brown.  She was 2-3 in the game, while Maldonado Soto reached base all three times she went to bat.

A local gecko watched the entire day from its perch along the protective netting in front of the dugout and left impressed with the Reivers overall attitude.
