Game two was not as smooth sailing for the Reivers.  Allison O'Driscoll, Tyla Lee, Michal Bilger, and Naomi Terrazas all homered in the first three innings for the Reivers as they jumped out to an 8-1 lead.  However, Western Nebraska responded with ten unanswered runs to grab an 11-8 lead heading to the top of the fifth.  Iowa Western would rally back with six runs of their own in the fifth to take a 14-11 lead before extending it to 15-11.  The Cougars would not go down without a fight, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the deficit to one run.  In the seventh, with the bases loaded and two outs, Zoe Hicks notched her fifth strike out after coming on in relief to get the win in the circle and preserve victory for the Reivers.

After a day off, IWCC got back in action at home against the North Platte Knights they'd seen on Wednesday.  Brienna Brock got the win in the circle going four innings while striking out six and allowing three hits.  Michaela Epp came on in relief, throwing three innings, striking out two and allowing one run.  Tyla Lee led the Reivers offensively with three doubles on the game.  Zoe Hicks, Naomi Terrazas, and Lily Gregory also doubled.

Alison Arndt stole the show in the second game, throwing a two-hit shut-out to collect her fourth win on the season.  Allison O'Driscoll hit her sixth homerun on the year, while Tyla Lee and Lily Gregory tripled, and Naomi Terrazas doubled to lead Iowa Western at the plate.

"Other than the marathon with Western Nebraska, I thought we threw the ball well and the bats were alive all week," said Head Coach Ben Greer.  "We hit ten homeruns and threw three shut-outs in six games.  Our other two games we gave up one run and two runs.  The 15-14 game had intense moments and I'm glad we came out on top, but I don't think we played very well.  Other than that game I thought we played well this week."

Iowa Western is back in action in Council Bluffs on Tuesday hosting Western Nebraska CC at 12pm.
