The Reivers took to the XC course today in Lincoln, NE.  It was a massive field featuring schools from D1, D2, D3, and NAIA.  It was a great set of races at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln. 

A set of freshmen led the way for the Reivers.  Ayianna Olivas led the way for the women charging through the 5k in 19:52. The Harlingen, TX standout had a great race. 

"This was probably the biggest race I've ever been in'" Ayianna said.  "She rose to the occasion and showed why she was a standout back home," Bierbaum said. 

Mohamed Kowa started his XC campaign this weekend with a bang.  The freshman toured the 8k course in 24:29 to finish 19 overall and was 9 out of the non D1 runners.  The freshman out of Al Ain, United Arab Emirates was the NJCAA Indoor National Mile champion last year, but never ran XC. "I was not surprised at how well he ran," said Bierbaum. 

The Reivers will travel to Columbia, MO to the Gans Creek Classic hosted by the University of Missouri.
