The Reivers opened their 2023 XC season in Saint Joseph Missouri at the Griffon Twilight hosted by Missouri Western State University. 

"It was a great first race for us, I loved the effort from the Reivers that ran," said Coach Bierbaum.  They followed the game plan and competed well. 

The race featured some great MIAA D2 runners which was a good measure for a lot of our kids this early. 

The women were led by freshman Angeline Estrada.  The track specialist ran her first-ever XC race.  "I was scared," said Angeline. 

Coach Bierbaum said, "When Angeline gets the hang of this she is going to just take off!!" 

The men were led by freshman Magnus Herschbach in the 6k.  "It was a great distance to prepare us for the 8k," Magnus said.  "I haven't raced in a year so I was a bit nervous, but it felt great to get back out there," Magnus said.  "The men packed up well and I look forward to see these freshmen grow this year," said Coach Bierbaum.
