Mogos Takes Runner-Up at Nationals; Reivers Finish Program Best 3rd in Team Standings

Ft. Dodge, IA

Yonas Mogos took the runner-up position and teammate Kassim Kibet finished inside the Top 10 as Iowa Western's Men's Cross Country finished third at the NJCAA National Championships, their best finish in program history.

The Reivers finished just four points out of second place behind Southern Idaho's 91.  Iowa Central took the championship on their home course in Ft. Dodge.

Sammy Hydro and Wimach Gilo both finished Top 30 and the Reivers took six of the top 40 positions at the meet.

The finish for the men surpassed their previous best finish of 7th place in both 2009 and 2010.  Mogos became the second Reiver to take runner-up honors, equalling Sylvester Barus's 2nd place finish in 2015 as a Sophomore.

The Reivers distance runners will continue their seasons when the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field season begins in January.
