FORT DODGE, IA - The Reiver Men's Cross Country Team battled the elements at the Region XI Championships on Saturday and had a tough day on the course. The men finished 5th overall behind region champion, Iowa Central who claimed six out of the top 10 spots followed by, North Iowa Area CC, Hawkeye CC, and Southwestern CC.

The men scored 97 points and ran a total time of 139:06.6 with he top performance going to Brian Kitur who placed sixth with a time of 26:22.7. Teammate Dennis Kibowen finished in 10th (27:15.4). Both runners earned second team all region. Rounding out the times for the Reivers were Ethan Scott (27:49.3), Christopher Casart (28:46.2), Herick Walters (28:53.0), Iren Grassrope (30:19.2), and Jarod Ernestine (30:45.8)

Up next for the Reivers is the NJCAA National Championships in Ft. Dodge on November 11, 2017.

After the National Championships, Five Reivers will be chosen to represent Iowa Western at the Half Marathon National Championships in Topeka, Kansas on November 18, 2017.
