Reivers Post Strong Showing at USD

The Reivers were back in action this weekend at the University of South Dakota Early Bird. The Men came into the meet ranked 2nd and the Women 6th. 

Yekini Bowen won the discus with a 51.42m effort. Denzs Simmonds placed 3rd in the shot put with a 16.83m. 

The decathletes had a good showing led by Brandon Calmese with a 5436 point effort to finish 7th and post the 8th-best mark in the nation. Marcus Edan followed with a 5252 to rank 9th nationally and Isaiah Cowley scored 5237 to rank 10th nationally. 

On the women's side, Angeline Estrada finished 4th with a national qualifying 4:44.14 effort. 

Moya Mitchell placed 6th in the 200m with a 25.29, while teammate Judith Koumedzina ran a wind-aided 11.95, good for 8th place. 

Veronica Andrusyshyn braved the high winds to place 12th overall in the Heptathlon with a score of 3112 to set the 8th-best mark in the nation. 

Both squads will head to Wichita State on Friday and Saturday, April 12 & 13 for the KT Woodman Classic.
