Reiver Men Wrap up the Season in Lincoln

The Reiver men wrapped up their regular spring season playing in the 'Howl at the Hill' hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan. All 14 players were able to tee it up and play as individuals rather than a team score.

Day 1 was played in brutal conditions. As sustain wind was 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. "I'll tell you what, I'm tired of playing in the wind," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "We made the best of it and just tried to get through the round and play for Round 2." Freshman Magnus Nielsen paced the players with the only round in the 70's with a 78.

Round 2 brought better conditions and with-it better scores. Many Reivers posted some of the best rounds of the day. Sophomore Jason Kolbas and Freshman Ethan Smith led the way with scores of 72. Matt Dennis's 73 and Shoma Taguchi 74 were good rounds as well.

Kolbas finished Tied for 2nd place over while Nielson and Taguchi came in Tied for 5th and 9th respectfully.

The men will now get ready for District play April 24th and 25th. This year districts will be held at Crestview Country Club in Wichita, KS. Hoping for a top 5 finish will punch their ticket to the National Championships in mid-May.
