Reiver Men Complete in Oklahoma

The Reiver men opened up their Spring competition this week in Enid, Oklahoma where Southwest Christian University hosted a 19 team field event. The weather was the main focus for this event with below freezing temperatures in the morning followed by extreme wind during the day. The wind both days sustained at 35 MPH with gusts near 50 MPH.

The men did their best to compete and had a solid top 7th place finish. The team was led by freshman Max Nielsen who ended tied for17th spot. Sophomore Jason Kolbas shot an even par 71 on day 2, which was one of the low rounds of the day in the field. He was able to climb up the leaderboard and finished tied for the 20th spot.

"I don't think I've ever witnessed so many short, 2-foot putts, that were putted off the green", Said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "I liked how our team competed and controlled the things that they could control and didn't get caught up in the weather elements. Most teams that were in the field, this was their 2nd or 3rd tournament for the season already. So having this be our first I was very pleased."

The Men will be back in action April 3-4 in Warrensburg, MO with University of Central Missouri hosting.
