The Iowa Western men started off a busy November with a solid performance at the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge. A field of 19 teams competed in what is becoming one the best run events of the year. 

The Reiver men started off strong with games of 948 and 953 to which placed them in 5th after 2 games. As the day advanced shot making become a little more sparatic and the men ended day 1 in 10th, but only 14 pins off of the cut of 8th place. 

Individually the team was led by freshman Tim Lincoln who shot 1227 for 6 games being the first Reiver to average 200 in an event at 204.5, which placed Tim 12th out of 184. 

Day 2 started off slow, but picked up in the middle two blocks with scores of 766 and 769, averaging 191.9 for the 8 games of baker. The last block of 707 was good enough to secure 8th place and to advance to the next round by 60 pins over West Texas A&M and 81 pins over University of Nebraska. 

The Reivers fell to national #5 Wichita St in the quarterfinals by scores of 216-165 and 221-202.

"We talked all week about getting to 8th and making it to bracket play. It was an important step for us and a great boost of confidence for what is a busy month" Coach Goodwin said. 

The Reivers are next in action on Nov. 16-17th at the Bronco Open in Hastings.
