Reiver Men Finish 27th at Match Games

Reiver Men's Bowling placed 27th out of 27 varsity teams over November 24th and 25th weekend at the National Collegiate Team Match Games. The team, which knocked down 7854 pins for the event's 50 games—30 traditional and 20 baker—started the event by averaging 813 per team game on Saturday. This marked the team's second tier 1 event of the season.

"We are searching for consistency," said coach Chad Goodwin. "I'm happy with the way our spare shooting continues to improve, especially with single pin conversions. The key is continuing to stay in our zone and taking pride in the steps we are taking. Development is rarely linear and incremental. But, I know this is a talented group, and if we stick with the process, we'll be where we want to be as a unit heading into Buffalo in March."

Lucas Schmitz posted a team-record 1114 for six games, including a 216 game, to finish 51st individually,

Both the Iowa Western men's and women's teams next compete on December 1st and 2nd at the Mustang Invitational in Sioux City, IA. Fans can keep up with the Iowa Western Bowling Program by following the teams on Twitter (@ReiverBowling) and by liking the Iowa Western Reiver Bowling page on Facebook.
