Step 1  Complete an Application for Admission

Our Application for Admission is available online. There is no application fee to pay. We encourage you to take a few minutes to fill in the requested information, and then submit your application.

Step 2  Request Transcripts

You need to have a final, official high school transcript or GED transcript sent to Iowa Western. In addition, if you have taken any college credit courses at another institution, you need to contact each of those institutions and request your transcripts be sent directly to the Iowa Western Office of Admissions. If you have completed more than 30 semester hours at a regionally accredited college or university, the high school transcript requirement may be waived.

Step 4  Apply for Financial Aid

If you haven’t filled out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), you need to do so as soon as possible. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and must be completed in order to determine your eligibility for grants (money you don’t need to pay back) and loans (money you borrow). You will need to know Iowa Western’s school code, which is 004598.

Step 5  Apply for Housing

If you plan to live in campus housing, you need to fill out a Housing Application, which is available online at iwcc.edu. You may choose from three great options: Reiver Tower, Reiver Village or Reiver Suites.
