Linga, 4x4 Lead Women's Team at Northwest Open

Maryville, MO- The Iowa Western Reivers had an outstanding performance this weekend at the Northwest Open hosted by Northwest Missouri. It was a great showing from the women's team adding and improving on their national qualifying performances. Faith Linga finished 1st in the 5000m run with the top JUCO time in the nation. The women's 4x400m relay also finished first running the third-best time in the nation. 

The Reiver men had a great showing led by the men's 4x400m relay team winning the event. Their time of 3:17.88 is the fifth-best time run in JUCO this year. The Reivers will be back in action Saturday, January 1 at the Black & Gold Invite hosted by the University of Iowa.

  • Kiana Estima finished 2nd in the long jump (5.58m)*

  • Ethan Brenneman finished 5th in the 1000m (2:35.40) and 13th in the 800m (1:57.72)*
  • Shamar Deacon finished 10th the 800m with a time of (1:57.02)*
  • Shawn Kiptoo won the 5000m with a time of (15:02)*
  • Tyler Pouncy finished 3rd in the long jump (7.15m)*
  • Michael Jackson finished 4th in the long jump (7.14)*
