WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Iowa Western's No. 3 volleyball team improved to 8-1 with a pair of wins to wrap up play at the Polk State Invitational Saturday.

The Reivers defeated Hillsborough 25-15, 25-22, 25-21 and bumped host Polk State 25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.

"The Polk State match was a really fun match," said Iowa Western coach Alicia Williams, "We were down 15-7 in the fourth set. That is probably as far behind we've been in a game and then come back to win in my coaching career. Once we got the momentum, we did not lose it.

 

"Against Hillsborough we got to get some subs into action.

"I like this tournament," said Williams, "Florida teams play a little differently than Midwest teams, and it is good for us to see that."
