- The Iowa Western Women's team finished the Region XI Championships as the team champions with a final team score of 249.66. Sierra Coward scored a meet high 38.33 points competing in 5 events winning the Heptathlon and 100h and finishing 3rd in high jump, long jump, and javelin throw. The women finished with 8 individual champions over the weekend.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Sierra Coward finished 1st in the Heptathlon with a score of 4047, 1st in the 100h with a time of 14.67, 3rd in high jump with a jump of 1.50, 3rd in long jump with a jump of 5.47 (17-11.50), and 3rd in Javelin throw with a throw of 30.70 (100-8)
- Jasmine Lewis qualified for nationals in the hammer with a throw of 42.96 (140-11), 6th in the shot put with a throw of 11.30 (37.01), and 5th in discus with a throw of 34.19 (112-2)
- Kitra Bell finished 2nd in the long jump with a jump of 5.49, 2nd in the 100h with a time of 15.03, and 2nd in the triple jump with a jump of 11.18 (36-8.25)
- Samiya Abu-Youm finished 1st in the triple jump with a jump of 11.23 (36-10.25) and 5th in the 100h
- Monyjok Aywak finished 4th in the triple jump with a jump of 10.29 and 3rd in the high jump with a jump of 1.50
- Rochelle-Ann Bailey finished 2nd in the discus with a throw of 42.69 (140-00) and 4th in shot put with a throw of 11.65 (38-2.75)
- Caitlyn Juhl finished 2nd in the pole vault and 4th in the 1500 with a time of 5:40.10
- The women's 4x100m relay finished 1st with a time of 46.03
- Christine Irving won the 400m with a time of 55.90 and placed 2nd in the 200m with a time of 24.20
- Makeda Newman finished 2nd in the 400 with a time of 56.92
- Aliyah George finished 5th in the 400 with a time of 57.78 and 6th in the 200m with a time of 25.61
- Amya Clarke won the 100m with a time of 12.07 as well as the 200m with a time of 24.18
- Traci Brown finished 2nd in the 100 with a time of 12.10 and 4th in the 200m with a time of 25.07
- Patricia Johnson won the long jump with a jump of 5.54 (18-2.50) and finished 3rd in the 100 with a time of 12.37
- Accacia Hinds finished 5th in the 100 with a time of 12.65 and 2nd in the 400h with a time of 1:07.25
- Neri Getraide finished 5th in the 800m with a time of 2:21.71
- The women's 4x400m relay finished 1st with a time of 3:53.25
