Track and Field Ward Haylet Invite

The Reivers open the season at the Ward Haylet Invite in Crete, NE and had 3 National qualifiers. The meet started off with the field events Freshman Jonathan Whitcomb has a PR in the vault with a jump of 4.00m and that puts him in number 1 spot on the NJCAA leaderboard. Sophomore Marcus Klein wins the long jump with jump of 6.86m and taking the number one spot on the NJCAA lead board. Sophomore David Ejumeta starts the season with a bang winning the triple jump qualifying for the National Track meet and having the best mark in the country 14.54m. Freshman Zakiya Phillip-Horsford is sitting in the first spot in the women's weight throw with a toss of 12.90m. The sprinters had a great day also freshman Traci Brown has a blazing time to win the open 60m  7.64 and got ranked number 1 on the NJCAA leaderboard punching her ticket to the National Tack meet she is also leading NJCAA in the 200m as well. The men led by sophomore Sal Fidone have a great day also sitting 5th on the leaderboard Sal runs a 7.08 in the 60m and 22.73 in the 200m which has him second in the NJCAA ranks. Freshman Denzel Downing has an outstanding meet running 8.42 in the 60m hurdles taking first place and pole position in the NJCAA rankings. Neri Getraide wins the 1000 with a time of 3:16.27 which is the fastest time in NJCAA to finish the day off the men's 4x400m relay runs a time of 3:23.16 to be the number one relay team in NJCAA.

The Reivers will be back in action next week at the University of Nebraska and Doane
