Former Reiver Inducted into NJCAA Hall of Fame

CHARLOTTE, NC - The NJCAA announced three honorees will be inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame, including former Iowa Western Women's Soccer Forward, Celia Jimenez Delgado.  

Jimenez Delgado starred at IWCC for two seasons, helping the Reivers capture their first national championship in 2013. While at Iowa Western, Jimenez Delgado earned NJCAA first-team All-American two times and was named NJCAA National Tournament Most Valuable Forward in 2013. Delgado also made the All-Tournament Team two times, NJCAA Region 11 All-Academic Team two times and was a two-time NJCAA Region 11 and District K Champion. Throughout her time at Iowa Western, Delgado collected 21 goals with 11 assists across 23 matches.

Following Iowa Western, Delgado went on to the University of Alabama where she made the All-SEC second-team her first season, All-SEC first-team her second season, and graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Jimenez Delgado has also made four total FIFA World Cup appearances for her native country, Spain.

Currently, Celia is a member of the Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League in the United States.  Selected by the Seattle Reign in the 4th round of the 2018 NWSL Draft, Jimenez Delgado was traded to the Orlando in 2022 and has recorded two goals in 31 appearances for the Pride.
