Good Showing by the Reiver Golf Team

Short handed this past weekend, the Women 's golf team was able to make a good showing at the Prairie Wolves Invite hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan. Played at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln, NE. Madilyne Schlaepfer was able to pick up her second win for the Fall season. Madi posted scores of 75-75 to win the event by 6 strokes.

After Day 1 the Reivers had all 4 players in the top 3 spots of the leader board. Following Madi, who was tied in first place, Freshman Baylie Pyke, Wen-Yi Hung (Winnie) and Brook Diekemper were all tied in 3rd place with scores of 76

Day 2 brought stronger winds and tougher conditions. "The wind really picked up on Day 2," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "I was proud how the ladies performed in the conditions. Also playing as individuals and not as a team brings a different mindset, allows the ladies to just concentrate on their own games."

Marley Richter was able to join the team on day 2 and posted a score of 88. "For Marley to post that score without seeing the course prior was really great to see," said Robinson.

The team will be back in action Oct. 5th & 6th when they travel to Garden City to play in the National Preview. "This will be a good test. A lot of the teams that we usually don't see until the National Championship will be here. Also, the ability to play the same course that we will hopefully play in May will go a long way," said Robinson.
