Reiver Bowling Announces Hiring of Assistant Coach

Iowa Western Bowling has signed Omaha-native Chad Goodwin as the first assistant coach in program history. A four-year letter winner at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (2002-2005), Goodwin served as the assistant coach of the UNO women's team in 2006 before entering the pro-shop business. He was trained by former University of Kansas standout Jesse James and Omaha & Nebraska State Hall of Famer Tom Kelley, Jr.

Goodwin won three singles titles at the collegiate level and has continued to add to his competitive resume, winning the 2005 Freemont Plaza Lanes Sport Challenge, the 2013 TNBA Singles Championship, 2013 & 2014 TNBA All-Events titles, and contributing to the squad that won the 2018 Nebraska State Team Championship. He has also made five finals appearances in the Sandhills Tournament, most recently in 2018. Overall, Goodwin has rolled 28 perfect games with a high series of 826.

The Omaha native earned a B.A. in General Studies in 2006 from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a B.S. in Business Administration in 2018 from Bellevue University.

"When it comes to the intricacies of equipment and lane play, Coach Goodwin is one of the most respected tacticians in the region," said Head Coach Douglas Kuberski. "Not only is he constantly updating his knowledge base and skillset to keep up with changes in our sport, but he's also an innovator with a vision. His character and leadership style fit perfectly with the program's mission, and we are thrilled to have him aboard as we build Reiver Bowling."

Both the men's and women's squads are set to open their tournament seasons October 13th.
